Noting Ethnicity
[edit]looking through the page history i see that people have repeatedly removed and re-added mccowen's race. please do not simply remove it again without at the very least stating your reasons. here are the reasons for keeping it, as i see them:
- his race is relevant to the rest of the article
- his race is possibly relevant to his conviction
- his race is relevant to his appeals
- the race of a defendant is of interest to people investigating bias in the judicial system - hence, even if it had nothing to do with the details of the article, it would be worth noting
- race is noted in articles about white, black, asian, mexican, etc criminals. it is not true (as one edit comment said) that only black defendants have their race noted
please comment as you see fit. please do not remove his race again without contributing to the discussion. - 24.95.37.27 (talk) 07:18, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
...It's fair to mention his race. It's not fair, impartial, or objective to elevate that fact above the reason he is worthy of note in Wikipedia. Which is that he was convicted of raping and murdering Christa Worthington.

Notability?
[edit]How is this guy notable enough to merit his own article? He doesn't seem to meet the criteria of WP:PERP.
There is already a Christa Worthington article and the subject of her murder is certainly notable. Why shouldn't this Christopher McCowen article just be merged into the Christa Worthington article?TheBlinkster (talk) 15:31, 28 November 2015 (UTC)
- If nobody minds, I'll tag this article for AfD as a merge and redirect to Christa Worthington#Murder. BrxBrx(talk)(please reply with {{SUBST:re|BrxBrx}}) 03:40, 22 January 2021 (UTC)
I’m thinking reasonable doubt
[edit]Can anyone write to him or have to be cleared first also any rallies coming up? New court dates? 2601:195:100:78D0:39BD:98D2:74B9:A926 (talk) 06:05, 22 April 2022 (UTC)
